Teach For America’s day-long interview is a unique opportunity to demonstrate your skills in a variety of contexts and to engage in issues related to educational inequality with a talented group of applicants. To help you prepare for your interview day, we have posted information and materials on the Applicant Center that explain in detail what to expect, how to prepare, and what to bring with you. In addition, we require three online forms to be submitted before your interview.

You should log on to the Applicant Center now in order to:

* Access the specific location, date, and time of your scheduled interview
* Download and print directions to your interview, including street address and building and/or room information
* Download and print required pre-reading, including four articles and instructions for preparing for each part of the interview day
* Submit your transcript information Deadline Friday, October 19 at 5:00 p.m. EDT
* Submit your preferences for regional and subject/grade level assignment Deadline Friday, October 19 at 5:00 p.m. EDT
* Check the status of your recommendation form(s) to ensure their submission Deadline Friday, October 19 at 5:00 p.m. EDT
* Complete an application for transitional funding (optional)

As you begin to learn about Teach For America’s placement regions, we ask that you give special consideration to Greater New Orleans because this region faces historic challenges in rebuilding its school system. We invite you to learn more about the emerging reform movement to make lasting change for tens of thousands of students in the region.

In addition, we also invite you to consider our 2008 expansion sites. We are excited to announce our latest expansion to Kansas City, which joins our other expansion sites, Indianapolis and Jacksonville.

Lastly, we strongly encourage you to update your recommender(s) about your final interview status and ensure that they submit the online recommendation form by the October 19 deadline. Please note that we will send an e-mail to your recommender(s) and advise them that you have been invited to a final interview, as well as remind them to submit their recommendation form by the deadline.
